The state of alabama became a state of the united states on December 14th 1819. It was awile after the Indian wars and removals that the during the  early 19th century forced almost all of the native americans out and whites started settling in large numbers.In the city of antebellum weathly planters created huge cotton plantations based upon the fertile black belt wich was run by the enslaved african americans. thousands of slaves were deported and sent& sold  to slaveholders wich were bought in the upper south., Anywere else in alabama whites were practicing subsistance farming.By the year of 1860 45% of alabama's state population was 964,201.

In january 1861,alabama openly alighned itself and joined the Confederate  States of America. The american cilvil saw a deed, and our state suffered a major Economic Loss and privations as a end to the war. In the south their  submission of 1865 put an end to the confederacy, wich also led to the liberation slaves and and started a whole new period of rebuilding.

A new farming depression began had started shortly after all of this had happened , and near the ending of the Reconstruction of 1877 Alabama had still been the same as before, a poor and heavily Rural state also with an economy struggling because the cotton was lowering its price, all of the time. Shorty after this the panic of 1873 happened; it was something everyone would always remember. The panic of 1873 lasted till 1879 and in some countries it was even longer. The depression that this panic had made was known as the great depression until the 1930's but, today we look at this major step as the long depression. In the year of 1871 Otto Van Bismark had gotten a ton of gold from france. In 1901 democrats passed the state constitution that worked very effectively.Many African Americans ( In 1900 had more than 45 percent of the states population) who had also a thousand of poor whites. In the year of 1941 600,000 poor whites and 520,000 African Americans have been disfranchised. In the year of 1986 the state of alabma had become a republican.
